The Miranda Warning must be read to suspects before being questioned. You are not required to read them these rights unless you are asking them questions about the crime they are suspected of.
It is good practice to read everyone these rights before speaking to them.
Miranda Warning
You have the right to remain silent.
Anything you say can be used against you in the court of law. You have the right to an attorney.
If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed.
If you wish to answer questions now without a lawyer present, you have the right to stop answering at any time.
